SARAH HUMMEL JONES

My name is Sarah Hummel Jones & I am the ceramics artist behind Clay Club Ceramics. I am originally from Fort Wayne, IN where I grew up with my identical twin! I currently live in Omaha Nebraska where I create all of my handmade ceramic work in my home studio, alongside my best friend & standard poodle, Scout!

When selecting which objects to make I often find inspiration from textures and forms that I see in nature and in the layered depths of the city. Each form is created out of an intuitive studio practice, rich in material and texture experimentation. I want the design and form of the objects to take on a personality of their own. My intention is to create simple pieces paired with color and texture that one could use everyday to spark joy or to hold special treasures. I want to create unique pieces that carry more meaning to the consumer beyond the aesthetics of the piece.
